[Micro Motivation #9 – “It’s Never Too Late” I had a blast making this video. …]
Speaker: Adam DeGraide
Hey, guys, it’s Adam DeGraide here with another Micro Motivation. Remember, if you can’t make your point in under four minutes, you might not have a point to make.
I love being on Sea-Doos, by the way. It’s one of the greatest places on earth. As a matter of fact, a comedian, I wish I knew his name, I can’t remember his name right now. I saw one day, he said, “You know, people say that money can’t buy happiness. Obviously, those people have never ridden on a Sea-Doo.” [Laughs]
But anyway, all of us have difficult days and as you guys know, I was in Kentucky several weeks back with my dad planning a golf tournament. We’re getting some coffee in the morning with my brother. It was awesome! And I saw a sign that was on the wall in the coffee shop and it said, “It’s never too late to start the day over.” And I said, “Man, that is a pretty profound statement.” I love these little statements in life because it says so much in such a short amount of time.
Even if it’s 4:00 in the afternoon and you just had the crappiest day in the world, we can right now reset ourselves and say, “This can be a great day! The rest of this day can go in the right direction and not the wrong direction.”
You see, a bad attitude has never yielded a positive result. Mornings that I’ve woken up a little crunk [phonetic] and cranky or a little crabby has never really gone the way that I’ve wanted it to go. But if I wake up when it’s going to be a great day, have a positive attitude, more often than not, those days go well. But even if they don’t, it’s never too late to start the day over.
I’m actually hanging out here right now on Lake Tibet, which is part of the Butler Chain of Lakes here in Central Florida. Many people think of Central Florida and Orlando as the place that has the house with the mouse, obviously, Disney World, Universal Studios, and that is 100% true. But there is so many beautiful parks in Central Florida and the lakes, the Chain of Lakes over in Winter Park, the Chain of Lakes here, as I’m enjoying it right now in the Butler Chain, is amazing. And it’s kind of hard to have a bad day when you’re on a Sea-Doo.
So, sometimes, man, just getting close to nature makes a huge difference, too. Going out on the water, spending some time on a beach, going on a hike, whatever it is, take your shoes off, walk barefoot through the lawn, get close to God, get close to his nature and creation. Man, it’s tough to be in a bad attitude and having a bad day when you’re in beautiful nature.
And I understand that a lot of you guys are going through some things and many of you might have had a tough day up to this point, but remember, it’s never too late to start the day over.
In closing, I’m going to take you for a little ride on the Doo right now so we can have some fun. Let’s enjoy it.
My first-born son, my eldest, Zachary is out there. He’s having a blast, guys. I hope you’ve enjoyed this Micro Motivation. It’s Adam DeGraide, I’ll see you next week. Bye.
