Hey everyone, it’s Adam DeGraide. As you can see I’m at home social distancing myself from the rest of the world with my most precious, precious treasures on the planet.
And my mother said something very interesting the other day. She goes, you know Adam, for 1000s of years, people have lived without this, toilet paper. And I said yes, but mom for 48 years, I haven’t.
So I’ve got to find toilet paper.
As you guys are all probably feeling the same thing, paper towels, napkins, toilet paper, if there’s a way to invest in these companies right now, I definitely would. I’m not trying to trivialize a difficult time that all of us are going through because anybody who knows me knows that I’m not very good at sitting in one place. Although I have a feeling you’re going to be seeing me from this place for the next few weeks, because of what’s going on in the world with COVID-19.
And it reminded me of a scripture: “For where your treasure is, there is your heart, also.”
So think about that. I’ve been thinking about all these things we’re trying to hoard, water, food supplies, paper towels, toilet paper, we’re all panicked right, everyone’s in a state of panic.
And that’s because I think our hearts are set here on Earth. We’re so desperate to preserve our way of life, our own lives, that our treasures are here, and the Holy Spirit and the Lord has been gently reminding me that this place is not in our permanent home. This place is not where our permanent treasures should be.
We should be trying to put treasures in heaven, store them up there, because if we’re going to spend a heck of a lot more time in eternity than we are in our short little life. As a matter of fact in James it talks about how this life is a vapor and that’s when you open the soda can [can opening sound].
That’s how quick, our life is. No, I’m not trying to trivialize the fact that we need to save people’s lives, and also take care of ourselves and use toilet paper, but at the same time, it’s a good time to reflect on what is really important to us. Is it storing up treasures in heaven, or is it storing up treasures on earth? And I understand that in this difficult time we all are just trying to do the best we can. But don’t lose sight of the fact that we have an opportunity to look at the most beautiful things around us, Krystal just show them really quickly, beautiful, you know where we are, we happen to have sunshine, we happen to have flowers in bloom and pollen that’s actually happening.
And that’s really, really cool.
And some of you might be in colder climates where you know you can’t do that, and you can’t be outside, but all of us can realize that this is not our home and our treasure is not meant to be here, but to be stored in heaven.
This is a micro motivation with Adam DeGraide.
Remember if you can’t make your point in under four minutes, you might not have one to make.
I wish everyone a safe and healthy and happy day.
