Hey everyone it’s a micro motivation here with Adam DeGraide
As you can tell I’m in a very small room locked away, because that’s what we’re all being told to do, and trying to be as wise as possible.
Last week my wife and I discussed some really cool stuff together in Coronado, California. I highly recommend that you go back Krystal was a guest appearance last week, and it was awesome. This week I want to talk about, when nothing is sometimes something.
And I was actually getting a massage a couple of weeks back, few days back I can’t remember exactly when it was. And her name was Elena, and we were sitting there we were talking about how, with all the panic and everything, Oh by the way, I’m not really locking myself in this room, that was a little bit of a joke. We were talking about how, you know, I still want to go out, and we were talking about going out, and doing things and being out in the social environments. She says you know sometimes I just, love doing nothing.
And I said well you know sometimes nothing is something, and it really started to hit me that we are so busy as a society.
That this could be one of the best opportunities for us to get closer to our families, closer to what’s going on inside of ourselves. And even closer to God,
And I started to think about the passages of scripture where Jesus talked about how he used to rise early in the morning to go and be alone and spend time with the Father, and they would communicate. And you know, you think about the other times where it says be still and know, that I am God.
And these scriptures have been so interesting because it’s very, very difficult for a guy like me to sit still. I don’t know if you guys have the exact same thing. I jokingly talk all the time about how I have 2 speeds, On and Off.
And when I’m on. I want to go, go, go, go, go, and when I’m off, that’s it. My wife will tell you I can go to sleep in seconds. It’s kind of a blessing and it’s great and then there’s like five or six nights a year. I don’t know why, I just can’t sleep.
So anyways if you think about what we’re you know the whole Coronavirus thing that’s going on and the social distancing that they’re recommending to us and it’s just not about that, by the way, I don’t know how serious it is. I’m just trying to be proactive in my own life to make sure I’m as health as I possible can be and that we’re trying to do the right thing for society right I mean we’re all just trying to do the right thing.
However, the interesting thing is this is a great opportunity for all of us by the way to do nothing. Which could be something.
By stilling ourselves, by getting closer to our families, and friends, by spending that time with God to seek after his will for our lives. And to really check ourselves and say, Am I afraid. Am I living in a spirit of fear? or is it power, love and a sound mind.
And so often we can be afraid for our own mortality and our own lives and that’s right and so we want to be prudent about that. However, we can let that grip us and hold us hostage to it. Because at the end of the day Christ has set us free and we are free indeed. And so as you’re realizing these next few weeks. All of us are gonna have some downtime maybe we can’t go to Disney world, we can’t go here, we can’t do this, we ought not to do that.
Well you know what? Sometimes doing nothing, is something. And that’s the most important thing to remember, spend time with your loved ones, spend time with the Lord, and just nothing time to be some of the best something time we’ve ever had.
This is Adam DeGraide with a micro motivation, remember if you can’t make your point in under four minutes, you might not have one to make.
Thank you so much for watching.
And I wish everyone to be safe and healthy.
Have a great day.
