Hey everyone it’s Adam DeGraide, coming to you from the High Desert here in Apple Valley.
It’s a beautiful day out, can see the mountains in the background. The desert surrounding us and what better place to talk about something or someone being self existent.
Now, last week I discussed, dealing with a giant in the mirror which is ourselves, how do we deal with ourselves, to deal with the giant problems in our life.
Last night I was driving home, all the way from Palm Springs here to the High Desert. And I was driving with an Uber driver. Michael great guy, really nice guy, we had some really deep conversation. And I was talking about a time when I was a teenager and how I was pondering the idea of eternity. The idea that God, or something or someone has never had a beginning, no mother, no father will never end. And how that’s almost the most difficult thing in the world to process, is the fact that someone or something exists in and of its own. And I was commenting to my said, you know, nothing can exist, in my opinion, unless someone or something is self-existent. If you think hard enough about this, it’ll blow your mind. It’s almost like a calculator when you put in a large number, in the old days, and you’d hit enter and it would go, E the letter, E would come up, which means too difficult to compute. The same thing is true when it comes to eternity in something or someone being self-existent in order for anything else to exist.
The Bible says in the beginning, which really wasn’t the beginning in the actual original Greek language. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. And it also talks about in the Bible how everything that was made was made through Him, meaning through Jesus Christ. Now, even those who don’t believe that there is a Creator or a God. They often apply the same attributes of divinity to things like the cosmos, the cosmos will teach us this the cosmos will one day reveal this to us, because we all know instinctively that none of us, nothing can exist unless someone or something is self-existent. And that’s the beautiful part about knowing the creator of the universe and I believe it’s Jesus, in regards to that, it gives such a peace of mind. And I think the real difficulty in human beings, understanding and being able to grasp eternity, is the fact that everything we see around us, whether it’s a car, these glasses. Even, even, you know the chairs we sit on, the houses we live in, will have a beginning and an end.
But God doesn’t have a beginning and an end or as Stephen Hawking’s would say the cosmos has always existed. We instinctively know that something, in my case, I believe someone has to be self-existent in order for anything to exist.
Well, the Bible talks about how we are fearfully and wonderfully made by this amazing creator, the existing self-divinity. But the weird thing is to blow your mind even more is that you had a beginning, I’ve had a beginning, but we won’t have an end.
And that’s why it’s so important to understand that we need to place our faith in Jesus, accept his forgiveness, the very God of the universe, the God of the cosmos, the self-existing one loves us, died for us, so we can be with him.
So, remember, nothing can exist unless something or someone is self-existent.
This has been a micro motivation with Adam DeGraide.
Remember if you can’t make your point in under four minutes, you might not have one to make, thank you so much for watching everyone have an awesome, awesome day.
