Hey everyone it’s Adam DeGraide here with another micro motivation. I’m feeling a little bit under the weather today so if you can see that, you’ll know why.
I’m breathing a little heavy and struggling through this but I had an interesting message that I wanted to share, first of all last week, you got to check it out. I talked about what lessons, Toy Story 4 taught me.
So I think you’ll enjoy it. My son loves Toy Story four and I tried to relate it to some things that I think are important so check it out. Today I want to have a message from future Adam.
You know, for anybody watching this video right now, there’s a future you as well. And we all know that the decisions we’re making today are going to affect our tomorrow. However, we really don’t think about it. And I think the important thing is to understand that every little decision we make right now today is going to affect future Adam, or future you. And the other day I was out golfing with Krystal, and as many of you may or may not know I enjoy golfing.
And every once in a while about 30% of the time after my drive, I can shoot the ball, hit the ball and put it on the green. About 30% I’m not that great of a golfer, but I’m not that bad either.
And when the ball lands on the green, it creates what is called a ball mark, on the green.
And so you go up and you have a little tool and you actually clean the ball mark and fix it, you replace it.
And then I started to look around the green and I noticed that there was a lot of other ball marks from people who had not replaced them.
So I went over and I started repairing this one over here.
I went over here, I started repairing this one and Krystle was like, Adam I notice that do that a lot, you not only fix your ball marks market, you fix other people’s ball mark.
I say well Krystle I’m doing that for future Adam, because future Adams is going to be back on this golf course and I want the green to be good.
But an even more important point is, it’s not just about affecting future Adam. It’s about affecting the future people who are right behind us who are coming to that green to make their experience that much better as well too.
You see the Bible says very, very clearly, do not be mocked, God is not mocked. A man will reap what he sows or mankind, people in general will reap what we sow.
If we reap bad behaviors, it’s going to produce bad things in our life, if we are reaping charity, love, patience, acceptance, those things will also bear out in the future. You see, the important thing is to not only realize that we want to work on fixing our own ball marks that we created the world, look around and see if there’s others that have been there we could try to work on those as well too not only will it benefit you, it’ll benefit the people around you. And see your future self was going to talk to you right now, what would he or she say to you, about the things that you’re doing right now today?
Would he or she be saying, you’ve got to change your life, do things differently. Because you know what the definition of insanity is, it’s doing the same things over and over again and expecting a different result.
For example, if you smoke every day it’s only a matter of time in most cases until you end up with lung cancer and see that’s the point, the behaviors and the decisions we’re making right now will affect future us.
So what is future you saying to you today?
I know what future Adam has been saying this year, reading more, trying to be as healthy as I possibly can. Fixing ball marks and others around me because future Adam will appreciate it and future you will appreciate it as well.
This is Adam DeGraide with another micro motivation. Remember, if you can’t make your point in under four minutes, you might not have one to make.
Thank you so much for watching, guys. Tune in next week. Appreciate your time.
