You put your right hand in,
You put your right hand out,
You put your right hand in, and you shake it all about,
You do the Hokey Pokey and you turn yourself around.
That’s what it’s all about.
I know that was really bad right, but it was also a lot of fun.
Many years ago, I got this magnet that I saw in a store, and it really, really impacted me. It said: “What if the Hokey Pokey, is what it’s all about?” And I said, oh my gosh, that’s pretty profound, silly, but profound, last week I talked about “Who am I” and “Who are you”, I highly recommend that you go check it out and listen to it. But this week I want to talk about:
“What if the Hokey Pokey, was really what it was all about?”
you know, so often we’re asking ourselves what is life about? What is purpose about? What do we have and as Christians, I am speaking specifically to Christians today.
We believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the fact that he rose on the third day, He ascended into heaven, He then sent the Holy Spirit to live and dwell with us and our purpose to live now is to be connected with him and to be a witness an example of him.
But what if the resurrection, didn’t happen?
Let’s read what it says here in 1st Corinthians chapter 15, verse 12, Listen to this. It says, “but if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead. How can some of you say there is no resurrection of the dead, it’s a big controversy at the time. If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless, and so is your faith or my faith, it is useless. Then it says, and if Christ has not been raised, Our faith is futile and we are still in our sins. Then those who have died before in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.”
And you see the point that Paul is trying to make to those of us who believe in Christ and His resurrection, is that if that event did not happen, then the Hokey Pokey, is really what it’s all about. Think about what I just said, if the resurrection of Christ didn’t happen, we are wasting our time. You’re wasting your time watching this video, I’m wasting my time studying the scriptures.
However, if the resurrection did happen, and Christ did raise from the dead. And he does forgive us of our sins, then believe in Him is the only salvation and way to the Father.
See it all hinges on the resurrection. And so when you think about last week that I talked about “who am I”, it’s so important to be a Christ identified as a Christ follower, only reason I identify with this Christ followers because he’s no longer dead, he now lives, and he can live inside of me. You see, here’s the problem, folks. If in fact the resurrection did not happen. And I know some of you do not think that it did. I believe it did, but if it did not happen. We are dead on our sins, and the Hokey Pokey, is what it’s all about.
But thanks be to God through Christ. He did raise from the dead, sent his Holy Spirit into our hearts and we can have peace, love and forgiveness in 2020.

Remember if you can’t make a point in under four minutes, you might not have one to make.
Thanks for watching.
