[Micro Motivation #14 – “Willing to Work ” In this fun video I cover the value…]
Speaker: Adam DeGraide
Oh, hey, Krystle, how are you? I had no idea. Hi, everyone. Hi, viewers, how are you doing? I’m just reading one of the great literary geniuses in poets of the 20th Century. Tell me if you think you know who this is: “You want a hot body? You want a Bugatti? You want a Maserati? You better work, work.”
Now, that’s not what it really says, but I’m making it a little bit cleaner.
“You want a Lamborghini? Sip martinis? Look hot in a bikini? You better work, work. You want to live fancy, live in a big mansion, party in France? You better work, work. Now, get to work. Bring it on. Bring me a rum.”
See, hun, this is just amazing.
“Don’t stop now, just be the champion, work it hard, like it’s your profession. Watch out now, because here it comes! Here comes the smasher, here comes the master, here comes the big beat. The big beat to blast you. No time to quit now, just time to get it now. Do you pick up what I’m putting down? You want a hot body? You want a Bugatti? You want a Maserati? You better work, work.”
Now, some of you might be thinking to yourself, “Hey, that’s a Brittany Spears song!” Actually, she stole it from Paul the Apostle and King Solomon. Let me read to you in the verse where it says, “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat. We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy, they are busy bodies. Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the food they eat.”
And then again, in the Old Testament, it says this in Proverbs 14:23: “All hard work brings a profit but mere talk leads only to poverty.”
So, here’s what’s fascinating, guys, the most important thing is work is essential. It’s something we all have to do and no matter what you do in your profession, work hard and do it unto the Lord.
You know, people always ask me, “Adam, how did you get to a place where you own your own businesses and have been successful?” It’s because from the very time when I was young, whether I worked at Domino’s Pizza or as a chef or a cook, anywhere I was, I was working as if I owned those places and by treating those places of work the way I would treat my own business, eventually I started to own my own business.
Now, Brittany Spears motivation might have been very selfish and very vain; however, the principle is true: Whatever you want in life, whatever God has called you to do, you’ve got to work, work. Are you willing to work? It takes work to do anything, guys.
Thank you so much for watching this video. This is Adam DeGraide with another Micro Motivation. Remember, if you can’t make your point in under four minutes, you might not have a point to make. Tune in next week, I’ll see you then.
