[Micro Motivation #10 – “To Dream or not to Dream” Do you have a dream you are…]
Speaker: Adam DeGraide
Hey, everyone! It’s Adam DeGraide with another Micro Motivation here in beautiful Newport Beach. Krystle, take a look. Here’s little Rhapsody right here and that’s Chelsea. Say hi, Chelsea! This little man, Anthem. Many of you may not realize this, but Rhapsody means an epic poem. It’s one of the definitions of Rhapsody.
And then Anthem means an epic song. If you look around this beautiful place, it’s fantastic. Look at the sunset, gorgeous, amazing. Over here, you look over there, you got piers and rocks and oceans. Things are fantastic and beautiful. And it really got me thinking the other day about dreams. So, imagine this morning, you woke up and all of your dreams had come true. All the money in the world, everything you’ve been trying to strive for, success, ambition, a new job, a new position, whatever it is, all of a sudden now you have it. It feels great for a minute. You’d sit there, you bask in the beauty of it. You’re like, “All my dreams have come true.”
The problem is, you wake up tomorrow and you realize, “All my dreams have come true.” Now, many of you watching this video are thinking to yourself, you know what? I might want to try that. I get that, I understand that. But you know what? I’ve discovered in my life, no amount of money, success, power, leaves to satisfaction in the soul. It’s all something like a wanting that you still have. Even though you have everything you’ve ever wanted and now, all of a sudden, you’re like, now what?
Or the opposite is true. You woke up this morning and you gave up on all your dreams. You said, “You know what? I’m done. I’ll never do this, I’ll never be that. I’ll never have this. I’ll never…” All the never’s in your life.
Either way, if you have all your dreams come true or you’ve given up on your dreams, you are in the exact same spot, which is dream-less, and that is not where we are meant to be.
As my wife often says, “I’m the Jedi Master.” Oh, no, that’s a little aggressive, we all know, I’m not a Jedi Master. However, I really believe that life is meant to have a vision, a passion, a dream, something that we wake up to, something that we strive to do in our life that makes it worth living.
And you see, the Bible says that people perish for lack of a vision. What is the vision in your life today? Have all your dreams come true? Do you have dreams that if you think all of a sudden if you got them, your life would be perfect? Because I promise you, that would not be the case.
Or are you like sometimes myself, where you say, “You know what? I’ll never be able to do this.” The “I-nevers” in my life.
Remember, that either way, it’s not as good as you think. These are extremes. Life was meant to be lived right here, passion, dreams, vision, in the middle.
Remember, this is another Micro Motivation with Adam. Please, like my page, share this video, and remember, if you can’t say nothing in four minutes, you might not have a point to make.
Thanks so much for listening and one more second, let’s take a look around and enjoy the beauty of God’s creation. Take a look, follow me.
